No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer lived in a family of 5 in which he loved gambling on different card games at a young age. He found himself becoming very aggressive in these card games as he was playing his father. After finishing high school, Howard decided to put higher education on hold for a bit and moved away to New York to play some big-time chess. While playing chess, he was brought in to a poker game going on in the back of the room. Howard’s first two years were rough as he would play countless hours and do not win a majority of the time. He earned some additional cash by becoming an assistant for the poker enthusiasts. He theorized he might boost his game by balancing his life away from poker. He made an effort to acquire more rest and focus even more on poker.

The definite improvement in his abilities began when he began gambling at the Mayfair Club in New York. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the the most favorable gamblers would regularly challenge one another. He had access into a few of the foremost minds in chess. With their help, Howard Lederer would tweak his strategic thinking abilities. He applied these strategic ideas to the game of NL hold’em.

Howard Lederer also helped his sister Annie Duke master the game of poker. Annie was an excellent student of the game as she would consistently be asking questions about the right way to make the correct choice. Howard Lederer told Annie Duke to move out to Las Vegas and compete in the World Series of Poker competition. She is one of the best female players the poker world has ever seen. He headed to Las Vegas in 1993 and participated in money games for the successive decade. When the WPT grew in popularity, Howard made the decision to compete in more tournaments.
