Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with ancient ancestry. Based on the old Chinese tile game and the current American version of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the far east with the western in an excellent game for starting players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the gambler vs. the casino, unlike almost all other poker games that gamblers bet with other gamblers. By playing against the dealer, new players do not need to worry about any other, more knowledgeable players winning their money.
An additional Pai Gow advantage is the generally leisurely game pace, novices can take their time and scheme while not needing to make quick selections.
It is also simpler to wager on for a long time with only a small bit of money seeing as, to lose, each of your hands has to be lower than both of the casino’s hands.
Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the familiar 52-card common deck and one joker. The player is given seven cards faces showing and the dealer gets 7 cards face down.
A five card hand and a 2 card hand need to be made from the 7 cards, the five card hand has to be better than the 2 card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand values to be larger than the dealer’s.
